Dear E.
It is a quarter past eleven oclock at night—and after a long weary day of work … I have already made great progress in my sketch … old Peabody is too ill & nervous to be of much ac’ct … I shall finish my sketch this week & steady it up a little more than usual—then I must wait until it is caste … Browning came to see me & was very pleasant & cordial. I met also Edmund [Ernst] Benzon who wanted to do every thing for me …
Ever yours utterly tired out
W.
