As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 32, 364 (in part).

[London]

25 May 1867

… Attended Annual Meeting of the London Library. Lord Stanhope proposed me as a member of the Committee. Went to Lady Airlie’s second “Drum.” Though the weather was bitterly cold, & prevented us from remaining long on the lawn, I enjoyed the visit. Talked to Mrs Grote, Mrs Sartoris, Annie Thackeray, Lady & Miss Stanley, Lady Amberley, Crompton, & Browning.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Yale University.
