I do not know dear Mr Boner when I have been more heartily provoked by any thing than by my old enemy the Great Western which did not bring your most kind packet of autographs till you were fairly on your way to the Continent—so that my sincere & earnest thanks have to pursue you all the way to Ratisbon. …

I wrote the other day to Mrs Browning’s sisters to ask her address lamenting the long time that had intervened without my hearing from her, & she wrote me word that she had just had a similar letter from her—so a letter has been lost one way or the other– She is pretty well & at Florence still– …
