It is an evening of cold, statue-like moonlight, such as we have in New England, such as I do not remember in all my life of Italy. … I crossed the river for my afternoon walk, to see Mr. and Mrs. Browning. They have a beautiful little baby, two or three months younger than mine, so we have this in common with so many other sympathies. …
