… The new edition of Mrs. Browning (have you seen it?) contains but little new matter,—and, so far as I have seen, scarcely any alterations in the old. There is a new translation of the Prometheus Bound. I am a regular contributor to the Critic,—the editor sending me a batch of (chiefly nonsense-) verse to review every now and then. I don’t suppose he has received Mrs. Browning: but any notice of it I might send (which I should be inclined to do if I had time) would certainly be inserted. …
