I wonder you are not delighted with Sordello—a phoenix of a book in my estimation. As you, however, are determined to resist the mesmeric influence of the bard, and stoutly refuse to be “clairvoyant,” I shall fall back upon Mrs. Scott’s wholesome faith & enthusiasm, with every confidence in a more fortunate result. …
