Ah Louis Napoleon! But I do not believe the English newspapers– Mrs Browning who is in Paris & calls herself a democrat warns me against them– She has just made acquaintance with George Sand, & is charmed with her—certainly that meeting was between the two greatest women of the world!– By the way Madame Sand came to Paris to intercede with the President for her friend Marc Dufraisse– He received her most kindly—shook hands with her & granted her request—now the Times said he had exiled her.
