My dear Bessie

I took yr book in my hand to Mrs Browning—and showed her the beautiful lines. I have had her letter some days, but could not find your address. I wrote to yr father, but no reply– At length in despair I have been to Savile Row—and procured yr address. I tell all this, to show you why yr note has been so long kept. Is Mrs B. to have the Copy you gave to my Mother? You can easily give my Mother another—and Mrs B ought to have a Copy—I think. I hope you & Mama are enjoying yourselves. I saw Aunt Anna on Sunday. I went to bid her farewell.
