My dear Mr Forster,
I was deeply grieved to hear from Browning of your severe and lengthened suffering: and I was on the point of writing to you when your last letter to him arrived.
… and bring you amongst us all here, where I have been passing a very delightful week with the Brownings, whose acquaintance has been my grt happiness since I have been in Florence. … Here too are the Stories, who if they knew I were writing to you, would, I am sure, send many kind messages.
Publication: None traced.
Manuscript: Lord Cobbold.
