… Have you seen much of the Brownings since they left Rome?– They were taken up so completely with the Pages while in Rome that I did not see anything of importance of them– They, or rather Mr B– was, as I understood quite raving in favour of Mr Page &c– They were not at my studio, altho. Mr Browning made many appologies, [sic] promises, etc. I was sorry not to have seen more of Mrs Browning, for I think she is a noble woman and a woman of great Genius– And with all a true loving & valued wife and mother, which is a rare thing with such world wide fame as she enjoys. …
