Thank you over & over, my ever kind & dear friend, for your goodness in examining & forwarding the newspapers–

I have today a most charming letter from dear John Ruskin– He writes from Geneva. Also I have a long letter from Mrs Browning– They are kept in Florence by want of money—want so absolute that they cannot get to the Baths of Lucca. She says if it had been otherwise she would have come if only to see me– The letter is really affectionate. A ship that was to have brought them money brought an account against them instead– This looks as if it were a bookseller– But surely he could earn money– …
