Dumas is a great man; but I should confine his power to the ideal realm. … He is also accused of atrocious theft, in passing off translations for original works. I have not detected him in this meanness; but Mr Browning told me the other evening that a literal translation into French of the English play Fazio was included, as original, among his dramas.
