SD1819. Walter Richard Cassels to David Holt
As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 21, 374 (in part).
Leghorn
May 11, 1855
I have heard several times from the Brownings lately. She has been all winter laid up with cold, but is quite well now. I have worked so hard lately, and have so much winding-up work before me that I intend to take a holiday to-morrow, if possible, to set me up, and go to Florence. If possible I shall see the B.’s. … It’s just possible I may meet George Sand, who is now in Florence.
