My dear Milsand

Your last letter reached me the 27th and I went the next evening to Mrs Corkrans rout for the purpose of gleaning answers if possible to the questions you put. Miss Browning and her Father were there and well, and I learn from her that her brother was still quite in doubt as to his movements when he last wrote, although he seemed to have fixed on a near day for leaving Florence. Miss B. said “He appears very anxious to avoid passing through Paris on his way to England, tho’ I don’t see how he could otherwise; at any rate if he does come here he will only remain a day or two; we ourselves (Miss B. & Father) go to England also immediately after.” As well as I could make out she thought it possible Rt Browning and his wife &c might be here in or about the 15th of June, but she was evidently unable to give any precise information—or perhaps unwilling– …
