I recd the Examiners regularly. The one containing your review of Browning, I lent to a friend who has never returned it: this is the reason I could not furnish him with it, when he asked for it. A thousand thanks for the pleasure you send me with each Number of the Paper!

What Dickens & B told me, the papers have since confirmed—you have taken the commis[s]ionership; and this will, I trust, relieve you of much labour for the Examiner. … Browning has been justly annoyed at a hostile and malignant review in Fraser, in wh. he expected to find a concession from the pen of Kingsley. …

I hear that Miss Blagden has arrived in Paris but I have not yet seen her. …
