The medallion of Sir Walter is certainly better in the square form & the others will be so made … I am delighted with the Ruskin vol which I have just hurried through—that on Scott is admirable & so true. I think. To me especially pleasant in the midst of Browning & Tennyson admiring circles– The genuine love of all is I am sure quite compatible & Walter Scott I have ever thought of as Ruskin does, great & good as writer & man. Tennyson admirers & Browning admirers deny excellence in all others—narrow admirers I mean– …
