The petition about married women’s property has already been announced in Parliament. It is spoken of as the petition of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Anna Jameson, Mary Howitt, Mrs. Gaskell, &c. The London signatures are within a small number of three thousand. Westminster are two thousand. Various little incidents of interest have occurred, such as a very old lady on her death-bed, who asked to be allowed to put her name to the petition, and thus wrote her signature for the last time. …
