March 20th 99.–

My dear Sir

Your Affectionate favor, accompanied with the Bill for one hundred Pounds, I received this day. I am truly happy to hear Yourself, and Family are well. I leave Bristol on Monday next for London. I am not yet certain, what Ship I shall go in, untill I see Mr Hibberts when I am fix’t I will let you know, if the fleet does not sail, as soon as I expect, I shall return to Bristol, and from hence to Portsmouth. when in London I shall have the two dear Boys, with me for one week.– I was greatly asstonished to hear of Eliza Peters beeing [sic] in England, as I never heard of her having the least desire to come, I only hope her beeing [sic] with Tom & William will not injure them, in their Education; I beg you will not let her have any thing to do with them, that is not keeping them from their learning, the three Younger ones I should think, the sooner they are put to School, the better, the Mother I shall say nothing about, I commend your writing to Jamaica, but the most proper person to have written to, would have been Thomas Reid Esqr Belvedere St James’s. Jamaica, he was my Brother George’s Executor and Guardian to the Children.– When you write to me again, I will thank you to mention George Plummer, how he is, and your candid opinion, what you think of him; and also what School he is at; how are the dear little Barretts, my love to them, and the Peters’s.
