[Florence]

[mid-September 1858] [1]

My dearest Impatience

(That ought to be your Spirit name).

Thanks again & again for so kindly sending my letters, for which I also owe you sundry “quattrini”–

Now for what you want to know, now dear, I ought not to have been so cruel—but be satisfied & want nothing more–

“I have a letter from Mrs Eckley Yes is’nt she a poetical, pure, lovely creature? She covers the earth with her own white garments, and so walks clean-footed over dirty places—for my own part her love makes me sad, sad, sad—she sees me through it so different from what I am– What is so humiliating as being overprized?”

I can say no more at all—but this one thing—come soon and will you bring for me some three or four of those little olive wood frames if you do I will put some pictures in them–

My letter is waited for so goodbye, dear Impatience–

Yours ever affectionately

E. Fanny Haworth
