My dearest Polly,
Meta & Louy are working hard at the dining-room table, mending your pink gown; … One from Tottie [Fox-Bridell], which I am sorry to say I lost as soon as read, or you should have seen it. She describes her husband as very charming, & seems very happy. She was nearly asking Mrs. Schwabe to the wedding, but Mrs. S. had a grand ball the night before, so Tottie thought it would not do to ask her. Mr. & Mrs. Browning were there, & the Bridells dined with the Browning in the evening of their wedding day. …
