Dear Sir,

I cannot help troubling you with another line, seeing the new Edition of my sister’s book, with the portrait, is advertised to come out early in April. I am most anxious to know what has been done with respect to the portrait I saw, for unless great alterations were made, it would be painful to all related to my sister, that such a caricature of her (for it was really nothing less) should be published—and to her husband, I am sure it would be extremely distressing– I wrote to them respecting it. Surely it would be right to wait for their reply, before the book is published–

Forgive me thus troubling you, but of course I feel naturally anxious[.]
