We believe you are aware that under the Will of the late Captn James Pritchard you are entitled to a Legacy of £1000 together with all his Manuscript Books and Papers which his Sister may not think proper to destroy– We are acting for the Executors the Revd John Hoole & Mr Bezer Blundell and we are requested by those Gentlemen to inform you that they are now prepared to pay you the Legacy of £1000 less Legacy Duty and our charges on your signing and handing to us on their behalf your receipt for the same–

We should be glad therefore to be informed whether you would wish us to forward the receipt to you for signature in which case on your returning the same to us duly signed we will remit the balance to you or otherwise deal therewith as you may desire–

We believe you were in no degree related to the late Capt Pritchard and therefore that your Legacy will be subject to a duty of £10 percent–
