My dear Cousin,
I have a thousand apologies to make for not answering your letter[.] The fact is, it came as I was starting off on a journey & after seeing that the Will was all right, I put it & the letter carefully aside & I fear should not have answered the latter for some time without your reminder to Lucy.
The Will is perfectly satisfactory & sufficient. What is the use of the holograph copy I do not quite know, but I understand it to be similar to the Will sent—some formalities being observed required by Italian Law–
At all events nothing more is wanted to make the Will good in this Country–
The next two or three days will decide whether an Abbots Browley Railway will be attempted starting out of the Trent Valley by the Tenement Land– Of course it is not intended to stop at the wealthy town of AB, but in the hope of eventually of getting out to Uttoxeter– My partner Mr Gardner is now in London about it but with what success I cannot say at present–
I fancy Mr Horsfall would buy the Tenement if offered him–
I was glad to hear of the arrival at Church Eaton & hope Mother & Son are doing well– My father has borne the cold well hitherto but I fear it is beginning the try him.
