… I have just seen the engraving of Mrs Browning it is very satisfactory, though I think the eyes might be made a little more shadowy and the mouth a little more severe—not quite so sweet and smiling. I feel a good deal of interest in this portrait of Mrs B. as it [is] one of the very few portraits for which the lady ever sat and I consider it one of the best likenesses I have ever made.
