Dear Sir,

Mr John A. Graham Clarke Junr has desired me to inform you of the State of the Title to 1/10th of the Fenton Estate, which was settled on the occasion of his Father’s marriage with Miss Parkinson– Under the Settlement made on that occasion Mr John A Graham Clarke Senr is Tenant for Life, with the immediate remainder to Mr John A. G. Clarke Junr as Tenant in Tail. The latter has joined with his Father in charging £2000 on the property which was applied some years ago for the purposes of Mr Clarke senior, whose Life Estate is charged with that Sum for the protection of his Son– Mr Clarke senior has therefore in effect no beneficial Interest whatever in the property–

The 2/10ths of Mr James Graham Clarke were purchased by him of Descendants of Mr Altham, and of course were absolutely his property—he borrowed on those Shares as much as he paid for them–
