Sir

I hope you will prove successful in the enterprise which you have undertaken with so much ardour, and though I am unknown to you I feel myself as much interested in the cause, as if it were my own, being that of freedom. I humbly beg to subscribe sixpence to the patriotic club; as it is all I can afford, I hope it will be accepted with as much good will as it is offered. I hope your constitution fares better than that of the state, or else I am much afraid instead of a bed of roses in parliament you will soon require a place in the church-yard but with every hope in the exertion of the whigs of Hereford,
