George Curtis, not of Boston, is sitting opposite to me at my table writing, a pile of books keeps guard between us. … 1st December.– After a long break I come back to this letter, and to you, my dear Story. I was interrupted I remember by Longfellow’s coming in. … When you write to Browning will you give him some message of kindest remembrance & sympathy from me. Your account of Mrs Browning’s last days was most interesting & touching. Thank you for writing so much.–
