Hope End

August 1820

To my dearest Henry on his birth day

Hope End August 1820

_________

Let Bacchus bless this happy day

That gave our Henry birth

And let him drive dull care away

And fill our hearts with mirth

Let discord far away be driven

Wherever we may be

And in its place let joy be given

To bless both us and thee

Sweet Henry! may this day be spent

In joy and Mirth, and Merry play

In happiness and in Content

Which last must make a happy day

Edward.
