SD2615. John Forster to Edward Chapman

My dear Chapman
I shall try to call in Picadilly today if I go out—but I am not well and may be obliged to keep house today–
I have sent back the Browning Preface corrected—tell Frederick—and have desired Mr Clay to read your revise–
I wish you & Frederick would look at the title page. I don’t quite like the appearance yet. The titles want elegance—as well as the arrangement of them[.]
“Selections from the Poetical Works of R B” will perhaps be best for title–
Tell Frederick he has not sent the Goldsmith pages [illegible word]. But I suppose he will soon be back in town again! He might not, I think take his wife to the Cottage this very cold weather. There are limits to what the youngest and strongest of us can bear—and a bad cold in this winter time is a bad thing–
Give my kindest regard to Mrs Chapman & the Great Girls–
Very sincerely Yr
John Forster
I’ll call tomorrow morning on chance of Fredericks being back.
Publication: None traced.
Manuscript: Armstrong Browning Library.
