Dear Sir

My wife insists on sending you some of my extinct verses. I am afraid that some of them are so extinct, that they have not even their Ghosts to recommend them. I believe my only excuse for consenting to your being troubled with the book, is that I have a proper respect for your great Italian poet (whom you so well illuminate) & for your friend Browning, for whom I have a great Love.

Yours sincerely

B. W. Procter.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: University of Kentucky.
