Browning dines with us. (He talked much of Byron’s associate Trelawney of whom he has the worst edition. The book is full of lies. Mrs. Peacock was the “white Snowdonian antelope”[.] Shelley when he died was in love with “Dear Jane”—Williams’s wife. He was reading Keats when the boat capsized, & his hand was in his breast as often when he read or thought. Browning had read the mss which was found in his pocket[.])
