I was delighted to hear a word from you the other day after so long a silence …

I have modelled from memory a bust of Mrs Browning for her brother, & have had the good fortune to achieve a likeness which while it is natural is agreeable. The face as you know was not adapted to sculpture, but I have managed to make it pleasing without losing the likeness or the character. So, at least her friends say. …
