Now for news. First, Browning has come back—come back with a cold—but enriched by his having received from Fields (of Boston) £153 for the Dramatis Personae. Browning says that this sum must have cost Fields £300. Such are the returns which flow into poets’ pockets nowadays. …

Poor Landor!—Well, he has only met the kicks, which all dead lions encounter. I hear (from Browning) that he died quite quietly at last. …

I see that there is a Review of Browning’s works in the Edinburgh. …
