Sir:
As I understand you are the principal, and acting Executor to my Brothers Estate, induces me to apply to you on the present occasion respecting my Annuity on that property, it is now Seven years since my Brothers decease, and I have not received any part of the Money due me. I apply’d to Mr Plummer he informed me it was by your desire no Legacy should be paid untill such time as all the debts were settled. In that case I told him, I had a small demand against the Estate about £500 or better, which I had placed in my Brothers hands, and as such had credit given me in his Books; he refused that also, tho at the same time; he was sensible of the justice of my claim, his Father and himself are perfectly acquainted with the affair. It is a great inconvenience to me and indeed hardship to be kept out of my money, particularly at this present time, being much in want of it—shall therefore be oblig’d if you wd let me have the sum which is due me as soon as possible and pay it into the hands of my friend Mr James Scarlett, by complying with the above request you will truly
