At the end of my soul I do your birth greet
You who are to us both loving kind and dear

But what shall I say Oh what shall I do
To tell thee, how much I love you
But next year when we are older I’m sure
I shall be able to tell you meilleur
Then join with us in merry play
And let us have a happy day
And if joy and mirth does not beguile your face
