My dear Friend,

Have I done right?– Mr Locker has just called, and not only took charge of Pen’s pin, but would carry off the Dead Roland. He said Robert would like to have it now at once, when everybody is talking of the Pourtalès collection.

I quite forgot last night to tell you that I have had a letter from Miss Blackwell offering you and me tickets for an eveng concert– I decline for my own part. She is thinking of trying the water-cure again.

Mr Locker is here only for a day or two—he says he will try to come down to us on Tuesday evening if he possibly can– I wish you would come too. I think you would like him—do come if you can.

I have quite an affection for the man, for the sake of his kindness to Papa–
