Donc je ne puis pas quitter—et malheureusement si ce n’est pas lundi qu’on a besoin de moi je me trouverai cloué ici par la revue jusqu’au moment où l’arrivée de Browning me clouera encore pour quelques jours. Pourtant j’essaierai de me dégager. D’un autre côté si je vois que je parais je tâcherai de m’arranger pour vous emmener aussitôt que Browning partira pour Londres. …

Once again I do not yet see when I will be able to return to the nest. …
So I will not be able to leave—and unfortunately if it is not Monday that they need me, I will find myself stuck here by the Revue until Browning’s arrival keeps me here a few days more. However I will try to get free. On the other hand if I see that I am being published I will try to arrange to take you as soon as Browning leaves for London. …
