SD2806. Sarianna Browning to Joseph Milsand
Listed in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 32, 344.
[Paris]
Wednesday– [Postmark: 3 January 1866]
I am so very sorry, my dear M. Milsand, that I was not at home this morning when you called, but I had just gone to Miss Ryan’s before calling on Mrs Dyke whom I had not seen for several weeks. Many thanks for the bonbons; I have a weakness that way, and shall eat them with great pleasure. If you are in this neighbourhood to-morrow or Friday, I shall be at home. I saw Mrs Magee the other day. She spoke of you with great affection, and I did the same most heartily, for you know I keep all my wickedness for your private benefit. I gave her a good account of Claire, and said how fond I was of her. By the bye, when this New Year’s bustle is over she must come and spend a day here with Ellen.
Ever yours affectionately,
S. Browning.
Address: Monsieur Milsand, / 10. bis rue de Perronet, / Neuilly.
Publication: None traced.
Manuscript: Armstrong Browning Library, Joseph Milsand Archive.
