Mr. Gavan Duffy once M.P. in Ireland then Prime Minister in Australia brought me a letter from Browning—plainly a remarkable man whose energy & power are in singular contrast with the sickliness of his appearance as his manly breadth of speech is in contrast with the weakness of his voice.
