Sir,

Hearing of a sister in law of mine having met you whilst travelling to Bath, & of your having mentioned to her that you were related to our family, I should feel exceedingly obliged if you would, at any spare moment, inform me, from what branch of the Moultons you are descended– I take a great interest in any thing connected with our family history & am always anxious to collect all the information I can respecting it–

My grandfather Charles Moulton & his brother Robert (who was member of the Jamaica Council) had Estates in that Island, but their father I have always understood emigrated to & had property in America–

Should it be a matter of interest to you, I should be glad to forward you from Wales the pedigree of the Moulton family as registered at Herald’s College[.]
