I am much obliged to you for yr Letter of the 8th inst. which I ought to have acknowledged earlier. I have always felt interested in the pedigree of our family, & have at various times, intended to make out my branch of it, but from one cause or other have been prevented—& now being past “three score & ten” it is very doubtful if I shall take up the subject again– I send you three enclosures (which please return) referring to the Moultons—one of the papers relates to those who Emigrated to America, which I procured when in that Country some 20 years ago—the other two papers will speak for themselves–
My father died about 1798 & he had two Brothers, George of Montego Bay, Jamaica, & John an Officer in the Army who died in the East Indies, & was at the Capture of Chinsura (the date I forget) & I also forget whether it was George, of Jamaica or John, or vice versa– I shall be glad if my information shod assist you, & also obliged if you will forward to me any that will add to my small stock–

My father bore the Arms as shown in the Havl. M.|I.| 1080 Vol 1646 & I of course take them as his eldest Son–
