My dear Sir–
I have to return with many thanks the enclosed documents respecting our family– I say “our” because I feel sure that there was not another “Moulton” but those of my grandfather’s family living at Montego Bay at the date of which you speak—although at the same time, the pedigree wch I have asked my elder brother to forward you (as soon as he conveniently can) presents a very different coat of arms, lineage &c, from the Moulton’s of Plimtom Co. of Devon. I imagine that my grandfather must have been a brother of yr father—however, as this would entail an alteration of his brothers’ names—unless he had two others as well in Jamaica—Charles or Robert—it is difficult to say what the connection is. I shld be very pleased to hear yr opinion when you have seen the pedigree & I trust to avail myself of yr kind offer of allowing me to call upon you when I am next in yr neighbourhood–
