My dearest darling Mary,

I enclose a hurried note from darling Edward. He had to “fruish” as Alty terms it in such a haste as I had to come to parade– He is charmingly well & the Malets are so very kind to him, & all so fond of him– I have a nice letter from Altham this morning– He is quite well & writes in good spirits– Tell dear aunt Boo if it will be inconvenient for her to have Edward for a few days I hope she will kindly tell me, I am afraid from her reticence on the subject she is doubtful about her powers of accommodation at that particular time– My kindest love to her & to all– We have rain, rain, here–
