My dearest Henrietta

I sit down to compliment you on your beautiful letters, we wait anxiously every day for the arrival of the Post man to bring dispatches from Hope End that we may have the pleasure of hearing from you, your last letter was particularly capital and excited bursts of laughter and applause from all, it certainly deserved it abounding with wit and eloquence, and remarkable for the choiceness of its expressions, and the elegance of its language, Ba was in raptures, so were we all. Ba has not been in such good spirits today in consequence of a blister which was put on last night and which gives her some uneasiness, however her appetite has not suffered in the least. Yesterday the two first spasms were long but they went off quietly, the last was only twenty minutes and by no means violent, the first this morning was shorter than that of yesterday, and not more violent, she has just awoke out of a sound sleep, with the second spasm on her. Nothing seems to diminish these horrible attacks and sleep itself is broken in upon, time and patience will I hope overcome what doctors and physic cannot destroy. As Papa wishes to write to Mama in this letter I must wish you good bye for the present, but before I finish I must beg the favour of a short note from you when you have time. Ba sends you her best love, and give mine to all the rest of the dear party. Believe me my dearest Henrietta your affectionate
