I have a satisfaction in telling you that I did the Hebrew Conservative today. …

I got the Dean of Ch. Ch. to put up Lord Kingsdown for a D.C.L. degree; being a conservative he was carried. Pusey was furious & made a scene in the Council which will not soon be forgotten. I regret to say that they revenged themselves by throwing out Browning (which is a disgrace), but there is some chance of this being corrected. Do not mention about this until you see it in the paper.
