My beloved Henrietta

Having with some difficulty penetrated the fog we arrived about an hour ago, & while our dearest Ba & Storm are devouring a pheasant between them, I must impart some of the happiness which I feel to my sweet Addles, in the great improvement which I observe in our precious Invalid, since I saw her last, she is perfectly Cool, in great Spirits, her head quite free from pain & the spasms have been for the last two days very Mild—they all seem to Consider her, considerably better, & my own observation happily convinces me of it– I write this with a thankful heart My beloved Child, & I am sure you will read it with the same–

God grant I may contin<ue> to have it in my power to send the same good Acct till I have the Comfort of returning to you again, which I hope will be very soon– To my surprize I found Sam here! he arrived yesterday. They have had very good accts from Bro & Sam– Sam got a place above another Boy, the first day in his Class, and is delighted with School–

Storm has had abundant compliments on his good looks since he came—they are all charmed with him– Ba read her letters the instant we came with great impatience—& desires her best love & thanks for the Amusement they have afforded her—she has got Ellens Portrait pinned up at the bottom of her bed & thinks it very like–

I left all my darlings this Morng with a heavy heart but hope to return to them with a happy one, if our dear Ba continues to go on so well– Loves from all– Ever your own

Ba says she asked for you to come but was contented for this time to give it up, as Papa wished it, & depends on seeing you very soon
