My dear Sir

Your friend Mr Robert Browning has promised to give me the pleasure of his company at dinner on Wednesday the 26th Instant. I hope you will not think that I use too much freedom when I ask you if you will do me the honour of dining with me on that day at 38 Upper Brook Street at half-past seven o’clock, and thus afford me an opportunity of the personal introduction to you which I have long desired– In the hope that I may be so fortunate as to find you disengaged and that you will do me the favour of joining our little party
