Dear Sister.

I had so many letters to write, that I did not think I should have been able to write you by this packet: you say send you the rent of the Wharf and the Nt Proceeds of the penn, and that I must not let the wharf for less then £800 p an[n]um, which sum it will not fetch, and if you still Insist on it it will not be rented, when my Poor boy left this Country the debt owing for the Buildings upon the wharf besides 1190£ to the Close harbour company was 1100£ the whole cost of the Buildings &c on the Wharf 6000£ besides Interest and the hire of eight negroes at £25 each, by looking over the scetch [sic] you will find the wharf will not pay for itself for many years, I therefore think you “ought not to wish to draw any thing” till the debt is paid your son, it will be a pitty to stop Setling Longbay after planting 30 acres of canes and fifteen or twenty acres more prepared for planting, I will consider and calculate and see if I can do it without an advance, and if not do as we did before, there is some money owing since I took it in hand the paymt comes in this year, there will not be a great dale [sic] left after paying the Contingencies, however it will be more then it has Neated since it was set[t]led, I will send you by the fleet a regular and Correct Statement of its proceeds & Disburs[e]ments since Tom took it in his hands, I hope you and all the family are well—my love to all I am Dr Sister your Affecte Brother——
