On her birthday

May 1st 1825

On this day dear mama was born

Oh! yes yes this very morn

Oh! mama how can I greet

A day to us so dear and sweet

Now this is the first of May

So let us spend it in peace and play

Let us hail this day of joy

And ever love your affectionate boy

For my love shall always be towards thee

For you are always kind to me

Now Mama I must bid farewell

How much I love you I cannot tell
