My dearest Mama

I am very sorry for not writing to you before their was a man who lived at eastnor castle which bit a boy to death and it was not an hour before he died. papa says his hops looks pretty well and he thinks he will be able to pick them in a month. we have all being cleanning the road and the walks but we have not finished them yet, and we have got a kind of a tool which we pull out all the weeds out of the grass. there was a man who broke into a house and killed a boy and the mother jumped over a hedge into a draw-well and drowned herself. Papa has finished one of his wheat fields, but he has got four fields more to do. Your affecte
